The image above is a Skrillex (@skrillex) NES style online game. Click it. Click it now. Old school Zelda fans will enjoy this regardless of how much of their day is spent complaining about those damn kids and their dubsteps. But, the madness of the sounds from the Equinox scream when injured to the opening flash of With You, Friends when gaining a life is what makes this more entertaining. Despite the fact that I do enjoy myself some aurally assaulting Skrillex if had not heard it before or whined about the megastar this alone would ensure my loyalty.

Show: Paul Banks at Slims (Saturday, 12/1, 8pm)

The INTERPOL frontman has just released his second solo album and is heading to Slims this weekend. In case you don’t already have enough options for Saturday (Bay Brewed, Neck of the Woods) Banks (@bankspaulbanks) sounds like a fitting event as the dark of winter officially hits the city by the bay. The new album doesn’t stray from the core of INTERPOL’s dark humor tinged songwriting or overall sonic atmosphere. Of course, the major change is the lack of consistent gloom of the main bands records ensured by drummer Sam Fogarino and former groove-master Carlos Dengler. Some tracks carry some 80’s dark synth lines and an overall block of syncopated drumming stretching what many will want the album to be…Interpol. However, any semi-fan will find some enjoyment amongst the ten new songs (Try The Base, Young Again, Summertime Is Coming). Check out the video for Young Again above / Info and Tickets HERE.

Nova November Mix

by Bag Raiders

Dance: Bag Raiders November Mix

I’m not entirely sure how to explain the dance party of Bag Raiders (@bag_raiders) without using all CAPS so hurry up and go listen to their self titled debut. Assuming your already a crazed fan we need to make sure you follow the Aussie duo on Twitter or Soundcloud. With only one full length album under their belts these two are heavy remixers and often on the road creating new sets for the masses. This year they began throwing out a monthly mix to keep you busy dancing - listen to this month’s mix - a 30min Nova radio set. Now go do the bear hug.

Video: Breakers by Local Natives

Hummingbird, the new album from Local Natives (@localnatives), doesn’t grace us until late January but we have been given a new peek with their video for “Breakers”. The song isn’t too far off course from anything on 2010’s Gorilla Manor which should be good news for everyone. The video features masked men tossing bandmember Taylor Rice down all of the stairs known to man. You can buy the track on iTunes.

It Came From The Internet: Gangnam Style Conquers YouTube

If you have not seen the Korean popstar’s accidental phenomenon above I would like to be the first to welcome you to the internet. You may now remove your AOL 23.0 trial disc. Psy’s dance magic, single line of english, video antics, and amalgamation of K-Pop and LMFAO has officially sped past 800 million views on YouTube. After only four months this overtakes the previous Korean American Berklee College grad holding the coveted most viewed video title - “Baby” by Justin Bieber.
UPDATE: I just witnessed a promo for Glee preparing to use this song, Game Over.

Invasión - The Plastics Revolution (Video oficial/Official Music Video) from The Plastics Revolution on Vimeo.

Video: Invasion by The Plastics Revolution

If the annual Hipster Achievement Awards weren’t so underground I would nominate The Plastics Revolution (@plasticsrev) for the “I guess it’s alright Music Video” category. In all seriousness this video is pretty great. The Mexico City indie pop band of former high school classmates were recently in San Francisco where they created a video suiting their surroundings quite well. The video is actually not a video at all but 1,905 still shots. As there are already more than a few videos of that nature the band and director Arturo Perez Jr. decided to only use snap Instagram shots from their iPhones. Needless to say this is far more pleasing to the eye than my sutro filtered breakfast.

Show of the Week: Codes, Team No Sleep, and No Requests at Vessel
This Friday do yourself a favor and spend nothing on three great DJs this weekend at Vessel in San Francisco [10pm, Free before 11pm - $20 at the door]. Brooklyn’s Codes (@codeshouse) will headline the night and you can prepare by streaming some tracks on DeliRadio below. You’re in store for a lot of disco and a lot of house so start doing your homework.
If you now feel you are prepared for the night you are significantly mistaken. San Francisco’s own musical Triforce that is Team No Sleep (@teamnosleepdjs) will be preceding. Recently opening for Major Lazer, DJ Leadr, C4, & RuChez have continued to break into new ground since their time at Chico State. Now added to the Wintersalt lineup this has become their year taking over this city. With new material on the way don’t miss another chance to see them before the apocalypse.
Opening the night will be friends of the insomniacs, fellow Chico State(r), and man behind one of my favorite DJ names; No Requests (@norequestsmusic). Originally from the far off land of LA you can hear elements across the dance spectrum from house to trance though all heavily rooted in the funkiest of funk. Get to Vessel by 10pm to hear No Requests start off the night and hypnotize you into following a DJ ready to make his next strike.

Go Here: The Bay Brewed 2012 (Saturday 12/1, 12:30-6pm, $50)
I could quickly explain that this event is a “Rock & Roll Beer Festival” and be finished with my argument for attendance but I have an extra minute to tack on a few words. The Bay Bridged is sponsoring this event combining two of the most important aspects of life. Bands performing include; Bear In Heaven, James & Evander, Trails & Ways, Sonny & the Sunsets, Born Gold, and Blasted Canyons. We’ve covered a few of these acts before so hopefully you’ve caught a show by now. If not, be sure to be sober enough to witness Bear In Heaven, James & Evander, and Trails & Ways. There are 12+ local brewers pouring an everlasting supply of brews so pace yourself.

Album Stream: Silver & Gold - Sufjan Stevens
Sufjan Stevens has returned to the holidays. After releasing a 5 disc X-Mas box set back in 2006 another 5 disc set is on its way to replacing any holiday tunes that came into existence before this century. Silver and Gold: Songs For Christmas Vols.6-10 came into the world the other week along with a delightful claymation video for Mr. Frosty Man. It’s hard to say no to updating your holly jolly catalog with titles like “Lumberjack Christmas / No One Can Save You From Christmasas Past”. Hit the photo to stream from NPR and check out the albums infomercial below.
